Episode 26

23. From Fear to Alignment: Trusting Your Intuition & Soul Gifts - Descript

There’s a moment in every spiritual journey when hiding becomes too heavy. When the fear of being misunderstood no longer outweighs the ache of living only half of your truth. This episode is born from that threshold - the quiet, trembling place where you finally admit to yourself that you’re meant for more, and that your gifts aren’t accidents… they’re invitations.

This week on House of Andrea, I share my raw, very human experience of learning to trust my intuition — not as an idea, but as a lived, deeply connected reality.

I open up about the quiet, trembling moments of fear and rejection, and the small, sacred steps that led me back to my own inner knowing. We explore what it truly means to embrace your soul gifts, even in a world that often doubts them. And how daring to trust your intuition — to fully show up as who you are at a soul level — can open doors to a life you never imagined possible.

If you feel the pull toward a new chapter, if your soul is calling you to trust your gifts and step boldly into them, this episode is for you.

Topics we explore in this episode:

  1. Why trusting your intuition feels so hard (and why fear shows up)
  2. How hiding your gifts fragments your power and limits your creativity
  3. The energetic shift that happens when you finally release old relationships, identities, and let yourself be seen in your gifts
  4. Practical steps for building trust with your gifts.

Andrea Matthies:

This is the House of Andrea.

2

:

I'm Andrea Lee Matthies, an artist,

photographer, and clairvoyant medium.

3

:

And in this podcast, we explore what it

really means to thrive as a soul having

4

:

a human experience, how to connect with

our energy, transcend those edges and

5

:

boundaries that we create for ourselves.

6

:

And open to the full

spectrum of who we are.

7

:

If you're ready to see yourself

differently, to sense more deeply,

8

:

and to expand into more of who you

are, you are in the right place.

9

:

Let's dive in.

10

:

Hello, and welcome back

to House of Andrea.

11

:

I am your host, Andrea Lee Matthies.

12

:

If you are new here, welcome.

13

:

Welcome in to this space.

14

:

It's always perfect timing

when you arrive in a new place,

15

:

a new podcast, a new space.

16

:

So I welcome you in.

17

:

I'm so glad that you found your way here.

18

:

And of course, if you have been here

for many, many weeks, months, years with

19

:

me in this space, welcome back friend.

20

:

I am so glad that you are here.

21

:

Honestly, it is such a treat and

such a blessing to be able to show

22

:

up and share with you every week.

23

:

I thought this week that I would dive

into the concept of trusting ourselves,

24

:

trusting our abilities, and coming back

to self, particularly because when you

25

:

first start to step into your gifts,

step into your knowing and stepping

26

:

into trusting your intuition and

trusting what is coming through to you.

27

:

There can be so many wobbles,

there can be so many doubts and

28

:

fears that come into the mind.

29

:

And I, I speak with, I speak to

this with such, uh, authority and

30

:

love because my journey of trusting

my gifts Was a bumpy one too.

31

:

And it can be really tricky to

navigate the old paradigm of being

32

:

in the logical mind, of being in the

tangible, what we can see, what we can

33

:

experience, and trusting that as being

king, as being the thing that is real.

34

:

And when we start to really.

35

:

Unlock and step into a way of

being that is senses led, that

36

:

is connection or knowing lead.

37

:

It can be really confronting,

it can feel really inferior.

38

:

And even although we've been.

39

:

Perhaps connected to our intuition

or connected to this ability to

40

:

perceive energy that is beyond what

we can see beyond the physical say.

41

:

We can feel the emotions of others.

42

:

We can feel the thoughts and feelings

from other people or from situations,

43

:

or we receive signs or pieces of wisdom

that are way beyond the experiences

44

:

that we've had in our lifetime.

45

:

When we start playing in that

realm and receiving that.

46

:

The mind can wanna fight that sometimes,

and the mind can wanna fight that

47

:

because we are in a world that, you

know, up until recently, up until the

48

:

last probably I'd say five or even

maybe 10 years, but the last five years

49

:

particularly, and even more so, it's

rapidly becoming more acceptable now.

50

:

But up until recently.

51

:

Relying or even communicating with

others that you are someone that can

52

:

pick up on things that are in the

invisible field or that are source

53

:

given to you can feel really shameful.

54

:

It can lead to a bunch of

questions that we hold within

55

:

ourselves of, is this real or am I.

56

:

In ulu, am I, am I gonna be accepted if

I tell people the truth about how I feel

57

:

and where my ideas, my inspiration, my,

my knowing of this topic comes from?

58

:

And quite often what happens is we get

given information, we get given wisdom,

59

:

a feeling and insight about something.

60

:

And then to be safe, we wanna go and

back it up with either education or

61

:

research to find facts or, you know,

anecdotes or even reassurance from others.

62

:

to validate what we already knew was true.

63

:

And this is an old paradigm.

64

:

It's an old pattern that society

has always relied on things to

65

:

be true, things to be proven.

66

:

We love to lean on science, and please

don't get me wrong, I love science.

67

:

I love research.

68

:

I love exploration.

69

:

I love discovery that comes from.

70

:

the science that exists in our world.

71

:

but that is only part of the story.

72

:

There's so much that exists in the

invisible field that we are constantly

73

:

tapping into, but we've being conditioned

and trained to wanna reach for the

74

:

science, to reach, for the fact to

validate what it is that we feel, what

75

:

it is that we are saying or experiencing.

76

:

To not make us stand out, to not make us

different because quite often when we have

77

:

these incredible abilities, these gifts.

78

:

They can feel inferior to others,

they can feel like a threat.

79

:

You know, we only have to look at history

to look back and see the persecution

80

:

that happened to those that were

different, to those that were gifted,

81

:

that could see beyond the physical

plane into the energetic fields and as

82

:

humans and with the different control

mechanisms and systems that were in

83

:

place Fear was born in the hearts of

people and anyone that was different.

84

:

Anyone that had these

abilities were rejected.

85

:

They were considered a threat because

they weren't well understood, and we

86

:

can carry all of this fear, even though

we're in this society now, where being

87

:

intuitive, being empathic, actually

being tapped into source is way more.

88

:

Mainstream accepted comment.

89

:

Talked about, I mean, 10 years ago,

I wouldn't have been brave enough to

90

:

have even had this podcast because

I was still operating in a lot of

91

:

that fear of, what will they say?

92

:

You know, 10 years ago I was in the,

the peak of my corporate career, I

93

:

was a chief strategy officer here in

Australia contracting into, some of the

94

:

top A SX companies here in Australia.

95

:

And I was not prepared to risk

being rejected from that world

96

:

based on the trajectory and

the career path that I was on.

97

:

So I tamped down all of my gifts and

abilities and only allowed them out

98

:

when I could show evidence or show.

99

:

Data or science to back up the things

that I was already intuiting, the

100

:

things that I was already seeing,

feeling, knowing to be true.

101

:

I needed to find data and have

evidence to be able to show that

102

:

I could do something in the world.

103

:

And even if when I did use my gifts

and abilities, they were very much

104

:

hidden under language that was socially

acceptable for the world at the time.

105

:

But we are in such a different time now,

like there, there is a place for podcasts

106

:

like this for conversations like this.

107

:

Because this is becoming part

of our common vernacular.

108

:

We're starting to realize that

as a human species, we are

109

:

more than just a physical body.

110

:

We are way more than just

this physical experience.

111

:

And if you're new to this space, you'll

notice that I talk about this a lot.

112

:

We are a source essence, a energetic

makeup, having a human experience

113

:

in a human, physical warm.

114

:

We are source that has rearranged

itself into atoms and matter.

115

:

That is our physical body and we.

116

:

Have this beautiful human experience

as source in this way, but there is so

117

:

much more for us to tap into that we

are already tapping into that exists

118

:

beyond us, and now is the time for us

to really start stepping into that.

119

:

But I really understand what it can

be like to still carry the fear of

120

:

being rejected, of being, you know,

expelled from your societal group,

121

:

from your work, from your, social

structures that you have around you.

122

:

Because not everybody is tapped

into this knowing, even although

123

:

we are all of source, we are all

souls having human experiences.

124

:

Not everybody is awake to that, and we

can fear those few that aren't tapped

125

:

into it to judge us, to exclude us, to

reject us, and that can often hurt us

126

:

more than being disconnected to ourselves.

127

:

Just fearing being rejected or fearing

someone not understanding us can feel so

128

:

much more scary And haunt us More than

the disconnect that happens when we are

129

:

not tapped into our full essence, our soul

might be hurting and our soul might be

130

:

wondering why we are not fully listening

to it, fully connected to it, and that

131

:

that pain can build up in certain ways.

132

:

But that is often we are

willing to sacrifice that.

133

:

We're willing to have that

be part of our experience.

134

:

To not be rejected.

135

:

To not be isolated.

136

:

And when we are stuck in this

cycle, it means that we play small.

137

:

When it comes to our gifts, we might.

138

:

Choose to only talk about it in certain

groups in certain circles, which means we

139

:

open that part of ourselves in a certain

part of our day or a certain experience,

140

:

but then we shut it down again.

141

:

We tamp it down again to then go

back into the rest of our experience.

142

:

But I wanna reassure you, we are

moving into a time now where we

143

:

don't have to do that anymore on

every corner of the internet now.

144

:

I'm so excited to see that we are

seeing conversations about this,

145

:

about coming home to self, about

tapping into the essence and.

146

:

That power of who we are, that

full expression of who we are, more

147

:

and more and more, it's becoming

more acceptable and it's creeping

148

:

into the common vernacular and

the common human experience more.

149

:

You know, I had this girlfriend since

I was a child, a beautiful girlfriend,

150

:

and I didn't think she was plugged

into this world, and so I kept.

151

:

This part of myself to myself for the

longest years, decades and decades

152

:

and decades is part of me this fully

plugged in powerful soul, intuitive I

153

:

would very rarely talk to her about it.

154

:

We talk about everyday stuff, you

know, family stuff, kid stuff, you know

155

:

what's happening in the world, stuff.

156

:

But never this, and I don't even know

how it came up, but something came

157

:

up when we started talking about it.

158

:

And she was like, oh yeah, you know,

like I, I got my first Oracle deck

159

:

the other day and I was like, what?

160

:

Like what?

161

:

This is news.

162

:

And all of a sudden I was like, well,

I've been doing this for decades now.

163

:

You know, we are hidden in the

corporate world, but now you know,

164

:

this is my world and this is the

work that I do and everything.

165

:

And she's like, oh my God, I have no,

I had no idea as a child I've been.

166

:

Seeing, you know, visions and spirits

and I'm being connected, but I've been

167

:

too afraid to do anything until now.

168

:

And so all of a sudden this friendship

that has been going since we were, you

169

:

know, kindergarten, preschool level

has a whole new level now because

170

:

we were brave enough to finally

claim and talk about who we are.

171

:

Who, he has a soul level, and this

is happening more and more and more.

172

:

And so if you're feeling afraid

to really own who you are,

173

:

know that you're not alone.

174

:

Know that there are spaces and

places within which you can

175

:

come in and be your full self.

176

:

Be in the full power of who you are,

because when you shut down who you are,

177

:

when you kind of keep it in secret.

178

:

You're really only living a small part

of the experience of the existence

179

:

that you were born into and chose

to come here at this time to live.

180

:

You're only living a part of it,

and I really do understand how loud

181

:

that fear can get in your mind.

182

:

How the fear of rejection

can cause you to freeze.

183

:

It can cause you to stay silent.

184

:

But when you stay in that place of

fear, you are limiting the potential of

185

:

who you are that can come out into all

of the different areas of your life.

186

:

Quite often when we stay quiet about

who we are as these incredible,

187

:

powerful souls having this ex human

experience, when we only really express

188

:

or let people into a part of that,

we are missing out on stepping into

189

:

the full potential of who we are.

190

:

I was stepping into the work, the

relationships, the experiences, the

191

:

art, the creativity that lives within

us because we're still keeping it

192

:

down under wraps, under a lid of

safety, of fear of what they will say.

193

:

But it's it's keeping a lid on

you accessing the full power

194

:

of what it is that you are here

to experience and to tap into.

195

:

By saying, I'm only gonna talk about it

in this circles, or I'm only going to tap

196

:

into my intuition in these circumstances

based on safety, limits, our creativity

197

:

limits, what we can tap into, and

the potential that exists around us.

198

:

We think that it's keeping the

lid on one thing and keeping

199

:

us safe only in one space.

200

:

But when we clamp down like that,

it's actually shutting us off to

201

:

all of the other magic that exists.

202

:

To the wisdom that sits in the ether

to the next program, you're meant to

203

:

deliver the next art installation,

fashion design, musical masterpiece

204

:

that you are meant to create.

205

:

Because the gifts that are used to

express your soul in terms of your

206

:

experience and your connection to

people in social situations are the

207

:

same gifts that tap into those arenas

as well to make those creations.

208

:

So staying in the fear of saying

and being who you are, which

209

:

is that very human safety need.

210

:

Is keeping you from the mission,

from the art, from the creations

211

:

that you are here to create

because they are one and the same.

212

:

So one of the most powerful

things that you can do.

213

:

Is feeling the power, feeling the

essence, feeling the flame of your

214

:

soul, of who you are and what it

is that you are here to create.

215

:

Starting to feel that

within you and around you.

216

:

Tapping into that more and more and

building trust with being able to

217

:

express that building trust that you

can express that and still be safe.

218

:

And here's the key thing.

219

:

Sometimes, sometimes we need to let

go of situations of relationships,

220

:

of people, of things, of ways

that we have always done things.

221

:

We have to let them go to be able

to make STA space for us to be

222

:

who it is that we're here to be.

223

:

For us to be fully plugged into the

gifts and the creativity and the

224

:

essence and the missions and the

purpose that we are here to live.

225

:

We have to let go of certain situations

and people and expectations to

226

:

make room for those other things.

227

:

To actually be a viable,

real part of our existence.

228

:

We have to let them go and that

can bring up so much sadness.

229

:

It can be really painful to let

go of habits, of patterns, of

230

:

people, of relationships, of loves.

231

:

The things that make us feel safe

and secure, even when we know

232

:

they're not the full experience.

233

:

We are often in relationships.

234

:

We're in work situations, careers.

235

:

We are in dynamics that we, we

know there's something missing,

236

:

there's something misaligned there.

237

:

We know that on a deep level, but we love

them so dearly, or we are so attached

238

:

to how they make us feel from a safe,

human need, human ego perspective,

239

:

that we are not willing to let them go.

240

:

We're not willing to let them

go, particularly if we can't

241

:

see what's on the other side of

that letting go, and so we stay.

242

:

Being just a part of ourselves to

be able to stay in that situation,

243

:

to hold onto that status quo.

244

:

That good enough that I might

not be able to be my full self,

245

:

but at least this is kind of fun.

246

:

Or at least this is

kind of, you know, safe.

247

:

We hold onto that in sacrifice.

248

:

Of how powerfully connected we could be

to ourselves to let new opportunities, new

249

:

people, new loves of our lives, new work

that is so fulfilling and so connected

250

:

and so creative in, we're too afraid to

let it go and we miss out on that stuff.

251

:

But when we are brave enough

to move despite of the

252

:

possibility of being rejected in.

253

:

Honor of being whole, of honor, of

being fully connected to who we are.

254

:

When we're brave enough to do that,

that's when the magic starts to unfold.

255

:

That's when everything starts to

change and things become to move

256

:

faster, fuel, deeper, be even.

257

:

Even beyond our wildest of dreams,

and I love that expression.

258

:

I remember hating it for years and years.

259

:

I've been like, what does beyond

your wildest dreams even mean?

260

:

Like sometimes I feel like

I barely even have a dream.

261

:

I remember having these thoughts and

feelings back in the day, but now I under.

262

:

Stand it because when you are fully

plugged in to the infinite power of

263

:

what exists in the world around you

in energy and the infinite power

264

:

that exists within you, you start to

realize life can change so rapidly.

265

:

Incredible experiences can manifest

so quickly in your life That.

266

:

It is actually beyond what you can

think of right now because our mind

267

:

is confined by the knowledge of.

268

:

What has existed for us up until

this point, or the things that

269

:

we've seen or experienced or know

about, or learned about up until

270

:

this point, like there's a limit.

271

:

There's a construct around what we

think is possible, but when we start

272

:

plugging into that full energy of

who we are and being brave enough to

273

:

talk about, to express, to step into

and to own that we are incredible.

274

:

Powerful energy that exists in this moment

and flows through all of these moments,

275

:

all of a sudden you're like, whoa.

276

:

I can feel, even if I can't

see it, that there is so much

277

:

that exists beyond this for me.

278

:

I can feel it.

279

:

I don't know what it

is, but I can feel it.

280

:

I know it.

281

:

I can trust it, and I can move.

282

:

I can move in full connection

with who I am knowing that.

283

:

Everything is gonna change.

284

:

Knowing that beyond my wildest dreams is

now possible and it's going to blow my

285

:

mind 'cause it exists in the energy and

I'm being brave enough now to claim that.

286

:

To make that part of me to decide with

intention, that living a life beyond my

287

:

dreams, being fully plugged in, being

brave enough to own who I am, is what's

288

:

gonna open the door to the life that.

289

:

Is just incredible and

powerful and aligned.

290

:

So if you are knowing that within you,

you have these gifts, you're playing all

291

:

out in these gifts in some spaces, but

you are hiding it completely in others.

292

:

Now is the time for you to start

bridging those two things to maybe

293

:

look at where you need to move.

294

:

You need to shift, you need to be

letting go of what isn't serving you.

295

:

Maybe moving away from the situations

and the people that are keeping

296

:

you in the fear-based state or

healing that fear enough that you

297

:

can be brave enough to tell them.

298

:

And like with my friend, once we started

having conversations around this, we

299

:

realized both of us were hiding parts of

ourselves based on societal expectations

300

:

that actually there's a whole new realm

through which we can connect with.

301

:

Because when you tap into this,

this is when everything changes.

302

:

You are meant to allow source to move

through you, whether it's through

303

:

your voice, through your art, through

your creations, your experiences,

304

:

through the interactions that you

have and the ways that you serve.

305

:

You become more and more of you, more

tapped in to the unique version of you

306

:

that is meant to be stepping forward

right now and everything is a baby step.

307

:

Maybe there are some micro steps and some

micro changes, and maybe that's just one

308

:

or two situations within which you start

to fully allow yourself to be revealed.

309

:

But then that catalyzes bigger and

bigger and bigger moves and bolder

310

:

moves, and before you know it, another.

311

:

Months, days, years, you are going to be

way more connected to yourself and your

312

:

life is gonna look completely different.

313

:

But different in a way that you are

so deeply connected and so deeply

314

:

in love with who you are, and your

gifts are just something else that

315

:

you use today on a day-to-day basis

like they are breathing or blinking.

316

:

They are just so ingrained in part of you

with such trust that it doesn't matter

317

:

who it is, you don't hide them anymore.

318

:

That is.

319

:

A timeline and the reality that's waiting

for you when you start making these

320

:

beautiful, intentional decisions to trust

who you are, to share who you are and to

321

:

step forward as who you've always been.

322

:

But this time everyone can see it.

323

:

I love you.

324

:

If you wanna go deeper on any of this,

if you need any support to help really

325

:

stepping into this power of who you are.

326

:

Remember The Encounter is

there, which is my seven day,

327

:

beautiful, powerful immersion.

328

:

When we go deep on your frequency, your

energy, your past lives, your soul.

329

:

What your soul is calling for in your

future timelines, we can start to

330

:

calibrate and open that to move forward.

331

:

There's long-term coaching

containers as well.

332

:

If you know you wanna go deep in this over

six or 12 months and change absolutely

333

:

every area of your life through being

fully plugged into your energy and your.

334

:

I'm here, reach out.

335

:

These offers are opening and there's so

much more coming in this space as well.

336

:

And of course The Channel is there where

I show up every day to just channel

337

:

a message from the ether for you.

338

:

So if you wanna be in that energy to just

see and witness and experience what it.

339

:

Feels like to be in proximity with

someone who is fully trusting of their

340

:

gifts, open about their gifts, and not

afraid to allow their gifts and who

341

:

they are and their souls essence to

lead them and to be the forefront of

342

:

who they are and It's completely free.

343

:

So I love you.

344

:

So much is coming.

345

:

I will see you again this time

next week for another episode

346

:

and have a beautiful week.

Andrea Lee Matthies

Artist. Seer. And the woman behind House of Andrea.

My work lives at the intersection of body, desire, spirituality and raw self-expression.

For most of history, women have been taught to divide these parts of themselves.
To be spiritual but not sensual.
Expressive but not powerful.
Seen but never fully revealed.

I am not interested in living that way.

Through my art, my voice and the spaces I create, I explore what becomes possible when a woman stops negotiating who she is. And this podcast - Sexy Rebel Spirit - is where these conversations happen in real time: The stories we are not supposed to tell. The truths the algorithm tries to bury. The creative work that craves real impact.

If you feel the pull toward a life that is more expressed, more sovereign and more alive than what the world tells you is acceptable, you are in the right place.
