Episode 25

25. When You Don’t Take the Safe Option: A Story of Trust and Surrender

In this episode, I share a deeply personal story about trusting my connection to Source during a major life transition. After receiving notice to leave a home I had finally begun to feel grounded in, my husband and I faced uncertainty, pressure, and the challenge of finding a new place that truly felt like home.

I take you through the journey of surrendering control, following intuitive nudges, and holding faith even when nothing seemed certain. From almost taking the “safe” option to waiting for the place that resonated, this episode highlights the power of trusting the unseen guidance that comes from staying connected to Source.

I also reflect on patterns in my life - how I’ve moved and chased external validation in the past - and how grounding in my energy allowed me to navigate change with clarity, strength, and calm. It’s a real-life exploration of faith, intuition, and alignment.

If you’ve ever doubted your own guidance or felt pressure to make decisions before the timing felt right, this episode offers insight into how trusting your connection to Source can create opportunities, synchronicities, and the right outcomes in your life.

In this episode:

  1. Trusting your intuition when logic offers safer options
  2. Holding pressure without collapsing into old patterns
  3. Letting go of external validation and coming home to self
  4. How surrender creates momentum, clarity, and unexpected support
  5. Finding groundedness, even when everything is changing

Speaker:

This is the House of Andrea.

2

:

I'm Andrea Lee Matthies, an artist,

photographer, and clairvoyant medium.

3

:

And in this podcast, we explore what it

really means to thrive as a soul having

4

:

a human experience, how to connect with

our energy, transcend those edges and

5

:

boundaries that we create for ourselves.

6

:

And open to the full

spectrum of who we are.

7

:

If you're ready to see yourself

differently, to sense more deeply,

8

:

and to expand into more of who you

are, you are in the right place.

9

:

Let's dive in.

10

:

Hello, and welcome back to another

live episode of The House of Andrea.

11

:

If you are here, live with me.

12

:

Welcome.

13

:

I am so grateful that you are here.

14

:

I wanted to come in today

because I've got a big update.

15

:

If you've been following along on the

podcast and with these live episodes,

16

:

you'll know that my husband and I.

17

:

We've recently given, uh, the instructions

to vacate our home, the place that

18

:

we've been for the last, just under

a year because the landlord, and

19

:

they're a beautiful landlord, don't

get me wrong, but they've decided to

20

:

sell, which has popped us in a little

bit of a fix around having to move

21

:

on, having to make some big decisions

before what felt like we were ready.

22

:

We had decided that we loved it here,

that we had really, really settled, and

23

:

this notice has changed a lot for us.

24

:

But I wanted to come in today because

it's been a week since I shared.

25

:

An update on this and I

have some really good news.

26

:

We found a place, we found another

beautiful place, and the reason

27

:

why I wanted to give this update

and the transmission has come in

28

:

to share this today is because.

29

:

It is amazing our connecting to

our energy, connecting to our trust

30

:

and our belief in something bigger

source, the universe, mother nature,

31

:

the energy that connects us all.

32

:

Really connecting into that and

holding the faith in that can

33

:

have such a profound impact on.

34

:

How our lives play out and how we can

really hold ourselves and be at peace

35

:

and be in strength and bravery as we

start to navigate challenges that come

36

:

up in our lives that aren't expected,

that throw us, that really throw us and

37

:

just shift the trajectory of our lives.

38

:

Because I was saying in some earlier

episodes, if you've been following along.

39

:

We have moved a lot over

the last few years and.

40

:

Over my lifetime, honestly, I, I have

moved and been quite nomadic and for

41

:

the longest time, that was because

I never let myself feel grounded.

42

:

That was because I never really let

myself come home to myself and put roots

43

:

down, um, put roots down in places that.

44

:

Felt like commitment or felt like

grounding into a chosen identity.

45

:

I'd always felt like I needed to keep

moving, particularly if there were

46

:

significant impacts or significant

events that were playing out in my

47

:

life, such as a, a big breakup, a

big heartache, a big breakup, or

48

:

having to move very quickly out of

domestic violence situations or having.

49

:

Situations of bullying or

things in my career start to.

50

:

Really shift my self-worth and

how I saw and felt about myself.

51

:

And so there was always this sense

of just keep moving, move on.

52

:

Um, run away, escape or chase

adventure, chase curiosity.

53

:

And of course, I, I love curiosity and

I love adventure, and I think that is a

54

:

huge part of the human experience that

helps us learn and grow and develop.

55

:

But I think in my case.

56

:

A lot of the time it was, I choose

curiosity and adventure because I

57

:

don't wanna face these emotions and

I don't wanna face these feelings.

58

:

And so for a lot of my life I had

used moving and moving different

59

:

countries, different cities here in

Australia as a mechanism to escape

60

:

from what I really wanted to face.

61

:

And it was interesting

because over the last.

62

:

I'd say three years.

63

:

I've done some really deep concentrated

work about excavating that really

64

:

finding out what was driving a

lot of that need to keep moving.

65

:

And it wasn't until we landed, we'd

moved from the big city, I think it was.

66

:

Probably a, an earlier

episode if you wanna catch.

67

:

Um, when I share around how my

husband and I, we lived in the

68

:

city, we moved right into the CBD

of Melbourne a few years ago to, you

69

:

know, feel like we were amongst it.

70

:

I think choosing to be

childless and choosing not.

71

:

To start a family and being a child free

couple, there was a sense of loneliness

72

:

that was building in some of the other

places that we lived in the suburbs.

73

:

So we made that conscious

choice a few years ago to move

74

:

to the city and it was great.

75

:

We were well connected.

76

:

There was always something going on.

77

:

There was a hustle and bustle, but still,

I never really let myself ground there.

78

:

I think that.

79

:

Location whilst it was trendy

and amazing and you know,

80

:

everything was at our fingertips.

81

:

I was still.

82

:

Allowing external things to really

distract me and drive my validation.

83

:

You know, it was, it was so

powerful to be able to say, oh, I

84

:

live in Spring Street in the city.

85

:

I'm opposite Parliament building.

86

:

I'm, I'm opposite the Carlton Gardens.

87

:

You know, these are prestigious things

to say, but I wasn't really allowing

88

:

myself to fully connect to where I was.

89

:

I think I was using those external

things as distractions as a way to.

90

:

Feel good about myself without having

to really put my roots down and ground.

91

:

And so late last year, around almost

12 months ago, um, to the day we

92

:

had to move, not had to move, sorry.

93

:

We made the choice to move from the

city out here into Ivanhoe, this

94

:

beautiful suburb, which is green.

95

:

There's rivers and nature walks.

96

:

We walk out our front door here and

there's big green open spaces, and it was

97

:

the first time that I let myself land.

98

:

It was the first time that I allowed

myself to really look inward and heal.

99

:

Some of those things that had kept

me moving, had kept me latching onto

100

:

the external validation, the external

environment to distract me or.

101

:

Make a, a commentary or a narrative

around who I was and moving here was so

102

:

beautiful in that I finally let myself

stop and ground and come more into myself.

103

:

That made myself actually start

to feel whole for the first time.

104

:

And I remember, I think I mentioned this

in a, in a couple of episodes ago, within.

105

:

Days of saying that to Matt, my husband,

I'm like, I feel like I finally landed.

106

:

I feel like I can finally stop moving.

107

:

I feel like I'm finally coming home to

being Andrea, being a whole version of

108

:

who I am, and then within days of saying

that, and this is how the universe

109

:

works, and I'm gonna get into trusting

the path as it unfolds in a moment.

110

:

But as soon as saying that, allowing

that to be felt in my body and say

111

:

those words out loud, make that

commitment to, I'm here, I'm grounded.

112

:

This is my home.

113

:

This is where I'm going

to finally stop moving.

114

:

Within days we've got notice from the

landlord that, sorry, but it's time to go.

115

:

It's time to move.

116

:

We're selling your apartment.

117

:

And it popped us into that frenzy.

118

:

But I'm really excited to say.

119

:

That after a few very, very intense weeks

of searching, we have found something,

120

:

which is beautiful and I'm actually

starting to feel excited, um, about

121

:

shifting into the new place as we speak.

122

:

Um.

123

:

I am surrounded by empty shelves.

124

:

There's barely any furniture left

in this place now because we've been

125

:

moving over the last few days, and if

the audio's a bit echoy, that's why,

126

:

because it's a just big cavernous space.

127

:

But we are finally moving to a place and

I'm realizing that what I actually needed.

128

:

Was to come home to myself to make

that decision that I give myself

129

:

permission to land, to ground, to

build an identity around who I am

130

:

as a soul, as a human, having as a

soul, having a human experience in

131

:

this lifetime, in this moment, in the

present moment that I didn't need.

132

:

Location.

133

:

I didn't need external factors to really

define who it is that I am, that now I

134

:

actually can move without needing where

I'm going to say something about myself

135

:

or be something that validates me.

136

:

And I think that's a huge powerful

shift because sometimes our attachment

137

:

to the external, our attachment to

needing things to be a certain way.

138

:

To make a commentary around

ourselves can be really overpowering

139

:

and it can be also unconscious.

140

:

If I look back, I mean, I kind of

knew I was running in the past.

141

:

You can feel it.

142

:

You can feel that sensation

of, I think I'm running.

143

:

Like I, one time I went through a

significant breakup with someone I was

144

:

absolutely enthralled with, in love with.

145

:

We'd been together for a while and

went through a breakup and I was in my.

146

:

Um, mid twenties at the time, and

I thought the world was ending.

147

:

And I remember going to a coffee

shop on a popular strip here, it's

148

:

called Ligon Street in Melbourne,

if you've ever heard of it.

149

:

It's a very popular, um,

coffee strip, restaurant strip.

150

:

Very trendy here in Melbourne.

151

:

And so I thought.

152

:

Gonna go out for a girlfriend, uh,

for a coffee and lag on street.

153

:

And we were sitting there and I

remember saying to her, you know, just

154

:

how heartbroken I was and again, how

unsettled I felt because I had intertwined

155

:

my value into that relationship.

156

:

And of course, when that relationship

had departed all of a sudden.

157

:

I felt like an untethered kind,

just flapping around in the wind.

158

:

I remember saying to her like, I don't

even know why I'm here in Melbourne.

159

:

If you are familiar with Melbourne,

we are the city of Australia

160

:

that has four seasons in one day.

161

:

So one minute it can be hot and

you're peeling off all of your layers

162

:

and you're getting sunburnt, and

the next minute the rain starts to

163

:

come in and then it's like winter.

164

:

Again, and then by the evening

it's kind of like it's spring and

165

:

warming up again for the next day.

166

:

Like it is a really wild kind of a weather

pattern that we get here in Melbourne.

167

:

And so we're sitting there and I'm

like, ah, you know, it was raining

168

:

and it was cold at this point.

169

:

And I'm like, it's so

cold here in Melbourne.

170

:

I don't know even know why I'm here.

171

:

I think I wanna move to Perth.

172

:

And these were just words that fell

out of my mouth, out of nowhere.

173

:

I had no idea where they'd come from.

174

:

Like, I think I wanna move to Perth.

175

:

And she was like, ah, I think

I, I, I wanna move to Perth too.

176

:

Like, I've always been thinking about it.

177

:

And I think at the time she was dating

someone who was over there for work,

178

:

and so Perth had been on the top of

her mind for the last month or so.

179

:

That's interesting timing, I thought.

180

:

And I'm like, well, why don't we go.

181

:

Like, what would it take for us

to go, you know, we were young

182

:

women in our early twenties.

183

:

We didn't have huge

commitments at this point.

184

:

I had a casual job.

185

:

I think I'd just finished graduating,

um, from my master's degree.

186

:

So I was kind of, I was working in film

and television and I was all a little.

187

:

Fluid at the time.

188

:

And you know, she didn't

have any major ties here.

189

:

And so within a couple of weeks

we, from this coffee in this coffee

190

:

shop, we had sold a bunch of our

belongings, put notice into the

191

:

share houses that we were living in.

192

:

I shipped a bunch of my belongings

down to my dad to put into storage.

193

:

We book flights my friend.

194

:

Arranged some pet sitting accommodation,

um, to sit some gorgeous dogs in a

195

:

gorgeous house in this really upmarket

suburb in Melbourne, sorry, in Perth.

196

:

And we got on the plane and we left.

197

:

Like it was as simple as that.

198

:

I, I threw together a quick going

away party, um, at my share house

199

:

with some friends and family, and

I was like, I'm going, I'm going.

200

:

I was really running.

201

:

But at the time I was all this

independent confident, you know, early

202

:

twenties woman that's like, I'm going

on an adventure, nothing can stop me.

203

:

And I went to Perth and it was the

best decision I ever made because

204

:

we had to offend for ourselves.

205

:

You know, we house sat for about

six months before finding permanent

206

:

rental accommodation and you know,

fell in love in a new relationship

207

:

and got new work over there.

208

:

In fact, it's amazing.

209

:

And this is again.

210

:

Coming back to this faith and this

trust of always being connected

211

:

and always being supported.

212

:

I remember I was a motorcyclist at the

time and I had my own motorbike and I

213

:

had it crated from Melbourne over to

Perth because the weather was so good.

214

:

I wanted to be riding I every day

and my bike was on the truck being

215

:

created over and my girlfriend and I

found a, a local riders group and we.

216

:

Published on the, the forums back then

before social media, it was web forums.

217

:

So we published on the forums, you know,

two Melbourne girls coming over to Perth.

218

:

I look back now and I'm

like, oh, so dangerous.

219

:

But anyway, we posted two Melbourne girls.

220

:

We've come over to Perth to stay.

221

:

You know, relocating, um, we motorcyclist

'cause she was a motorcyclist as well.

222

:

And you know, we wanna join a

local, local motorcycle group.

223

:

Are there any rides going on?

224

:

And we found this ride.

225

:

Thankfully it was a really kind of

safe, great friendly ride to go on.

226

:

And we mentioned we don't have bikes,

we don't have bikes over here yet.

227

:

They're on the truck on the way

over, but can anyone pillion us?

228

:

And so we found.

229

:

A couple of people again, uh, would not

recommend dangerous, but true story.

230

:

We found a couple of friendly people

to take us on their backs of their

231

:

motorbikes to go on this group ride.

232

:

It was an evening on a Saturday night.

233

:

And it was fabulous.

234

:

Like this massive group of like

60 or 70 motorcyclists all came

235

:

together, all walks of life.

236

:

And we rode around parts of Perth

for a few hours and then in the

237

:

middle of the ride there was

actually a dinner break, um, fancy

238

:

dinner break at a service station.

239

:

So we all pulled up to the service

station and went in and got out.

240

:

Prepackaged sandwiches and coke and all

the rubbish that you can get from there.

241

:

And I remember sitting out, um,

just sitting on the curb of the

242

:

car park of this service station

and this motorcyclist pull up.

243

:

Pulled up with this really cool,

I think he was riding a Harley at

244

:

the time and his full leathers.

245

:

I just got chatting to him and I was

like, oh, you know, what do you do?

246

:

And he is like, oh, I run this big,

um, technology company, uh, here in

247

:

Perth and we do a lot of, um, work.

248

:

Produce unmanned aerial vehicles, or

we call them drones now, but back then

249

:

they were UAVs full of military in wa.

250

:

You know, what do you do?

251

:

And I'm like, oh, well I'm in film and

television and I work in marketing and

252

:

you know, at the moment I'm just, I had.

253

:

Picked up a casual job at

Smle, the stationary store.

254

:

So I was just working casually at Smle,

um, while I was in WA and I explained

255

:

to him, you know, I have a strong

background in marketing and master's

256

:

degree and all this sort of stuff.

257

:

And he looked at me, he goes, oh, I've

actually been thinking of hiring a

258

:

director of marketing for my company.

259

:

Do you.

260

:

You looking for a full-time job?

261

:

And I was like, I am.

262

:

He's like, do you wanna come in on

Monday to have an interview with me?

263

:

And I was like, oh, oh, actually,

you know, I'd, I'd love to.

264

:

Yes, yes, yes, yes.

265

:

But my bike comes in at the docks on

Monday and I need to go pick it up.

266

:

Um, they've said I had to

pick it up by a certain time.

267

:

And so this gentleman, this

gentleman that I met sitting.

268

:

In the gutter, essentially whilst

eating a ation sandwich on a motorbike

269

:

ride that we'd randomly organized

whilst house sitting picked the next

270

:

Monday, picked me up, drove me on his

motorbike to the docks so that I could

271

:

get my motorbike out of the crate.

272

:

He helped me like uncrate it

with the crowbar, get it all

273

:

set up, get it all running.

274

:

Drove to the office of

the company that he ran.

275

:

I had an interview and within

about 45 minutes had a full-time

276

:

job as a marketing director.

277

:

Like it was wild.

278

:

It was amazing how many things, when

you surrender into just allowing the

279

:

universe to support, you can just

unfold in the most miraculous of ways.

280

:

And I worked there for ages, um, until.

281

:

Coming back to what I was saying about

this running when things, um, unsettled.

282

:

When the boy that I was seeing at that

time and I was deeply in love with,

283

:

he got deployed to the Army 'cause he

was in, um, he was in the army at the

284

:

time, we were living on the army base.

285

:

He got deployed overseas and it

was too much for me too handle the

286

:

relationship wasn't quite solid

enough to be able to support a full,

287

:

you know, long-term deployment.

288

:

Overseas.

289

:

And so we separated and again, I had

that floating in the wind feeling,

290

:

so I moved back to Melbourne, but I

worked with that gentleman in that

291

:

director of marketing job for ages and

got to see some incredible things in

292

:

terms of, you know, working with the

military, working with lots of different

293

:

security contracts in a world that

I hadn't been exposed to before, and

294

:

eventually left that job to move back to

Melbourne 'cause I was too heartbroken.

295

:

Wasn't grounded, as I said, hadn't really

fully landed in who I was at that time.

296

:

And so as soon as something became

difficult or shifted, it was

297

:

like, oh, you need to keep moving.

298

:

You need to keep going.

299

:

And so ended up moving back to

Melbourne, but there were so many.

300

:

Things that had unfolded at that time

because I was even at that early age,

301

:

starting to surrender into trust of

being connected to something bigger and

302

:

fast forward decades since that point.

303

:

There has been so many times when allowing

myself to just trust and surrender.

304

:

Even when the stress is, feels

unbearable, even when you have no

305

:

idea which direction you're going, you

just have a feeling, you have a nudge.

306

:

You trust that nudge and you move in

that direction and just allowing your

307

:

connection to whatever you believe

in, whatever is the thing that you

308

:

know is connected between you and

energy, and the bigger context of us

309

:

as souls, having this human experience.

310

:

When you allow yourself to stay

connected to that, it is amazing

311

:

what unfolds in your life and coming

back forward now to this situation.

312

:

When Matt and I got the notice,

we had that feeling, 'cause I'd

313

:

recently become grounded here.

314

:

I thought, well, I, I wanna

stay in this beautiful area.

315

:

I wanna stay amongst

this nature amongst the.

316

:

Services and facilities and grounds

and everything that is here.

317

:

I would, I would love to stay here

like this feels like home, but we

318

:

searched for weeks and weeks and

weeks and we couldn't find anything

319

:

in this area that was suitable.

320

:

Lots of places that were really

run down and moldy, and I just knew

321

:

that moving into a place like that.

322

:

Wasn't enough like it, it just

being in this area, but having

323

:

to deal with accommodation like

that, it wouldn't be enough.

324

:

It wouldn't feel like a home.

325

:

And so we had to look further and further

out and into areas that we never really

326

:

stepped foot in before into suburbs

that were a bit of an unknown, but.

327

:

I kept getting this nudge that there

was this particular pocket, um, this

328

:

particular area in the east of Melbourne.

329

:

Inner East, and I'm like, I don't

know a lot about this, but every

330

:

time I kind of drive through it or

I drive on the periphery of these

331

:

areas, just passing through to other

different things to see friends or

332

:

family, I'm like, there's a vibe here.

333

:

There's a feeling.

334

:

I need to go and look at that.

335

:

And so Matt and I started.

336

:

Going to a lot of house inspections in

these areas, which were a huge unknown,

337

:

but every time I entered in to look

at a house, I'm like, the house isn't

338

:

right, but there's something here.

339

:

There's like a buzz,

there's an electricity.

340

:

There's a feeling that the next

groundedness, that next connection

341

:

that I am to make in this new

chapter, it's in this area.

342

:

There's something here for me, even if

I can't see it, and I think this is a.

343

:

Really important point because often

we are afraid to move unless we can

344

:

be certain around what we feel, what's

coming, or be able to see the bigger plan.

345

:

You know, we can stay in stasis,

we can stay stuck not being able to

346

:

move because we need the certainty.

347

:

We need to be able to be like.

348

:

This is why, this is the reason,

and this is the five step plan

349

:

for me, be able to get there, and

this is why I need to move there.

350

:

There's a big, kind of like a

logic element that comes in, but

351

:

sometimes it's just a feeling.

352

:

Sometimes you're in a coffee shop

and a a flash pops into your mind

353

:

and words fall out of your mouth.

354

:

And that is the guidance, that is

the nudge from the universe for

355

:

you to do something, something.

356

:

Sometimes it's just driving on a random

ride through an area that you don't

357

:

normally have much to do with, and you're

like, this is the place, this is the home.

358

:

This is where I am meant to

be, right here, right now.

359

:

So I'm gonna follow that.

360

:

I don't know why, I don't know where.

361

:

I don't know how.

362

:

I, I don't know any factors.

363

:

And it can create that nervousness.

364

:

Like when I was thinking about this is the

area I wanna move to, um, for anyone who's

365

:

in Melbourne, I'm talking about that.

366

:

Um, Canterbury, Surrey Hills, Albo,

that kind of pocket in the East.

367

:

Um, it's just got this

beautiful green feel to it.

368

:

And every time I pass

through, I'm like, huh.

369

:

I don't know how I am gonna get here.

370

:

Like everything feels really expensive.

371

:

It's really feels unknown and

I, my mind wanted to search

372

:

for answers, like, is it noisy?

373

:

The neighbor's Nice.

374

:

What's the traffic like?

375

:

Like I wanted to run through

this usual checklist of things

376

:

that would make me feel safe.

377

:

You know?

378

:

My mind wanted to find that

certainty before making a move, but

379

:

sometimes certainty isn't possible.

380

:

It's just a feeling.

381

:

And so Matt and I, we started looking

at properties in these places and

382

:

each one we'd get into, I'm like, oh.

383

:

It's not the right configuration,

or it's dark, or it's moldy or the

384

:

conditions are not great or the,

the street has extreme trucks and

385

:

noise and, and things like that.

386

:

But every time we would do a house

inspection in this area, I'm like,

387

:

there's a reason that I keep getting

pulled back to this area until we

388

:

pulled up out the front of this street.

389

:

We hadn't been in the street before

of this house, this little unit.

390

:

As soon as we pulled up, I got

this strong, grounded feeling

391

:

of like, this is the one.

392

:

This is the one.

393

:

And we, we had been to dozens and

dozens and dozens and dozens of

394

:

properties up until this point.

395

:

And each time you pull up and you have

a look and you're like, oh, okay, I'll

396

:

go and look because we're desperate.

397

:

If we don't find something,

we're gonna be on the street.

398

:

Well, we'd be back with family.

399

:

We wouldn't be on the street.

400

:

But if we don't find something

soon, you know this is gonna be.

401

:

And difficult situation to navigate.

402

:

But I pulled up and I was

like, Ooh, this is one.

403

:

It was this feeling.

404

:

I was like, it was annoying.

405

:

And we walked up the driveway and there

were dozens of people queuing to see

406

:

this property, and I understand why.

407

:

As soon as I walked in, it was gorgeous.

408

:

It would been renovated,

it was light and airy.

409

:

There was skylights throughout

it, Polish floorboards, you know,

410

:

it just had this beautiful home.

411

:

Um, feeling to it.

412

:

And I was standing at, we

were in the back of the line.

413

:

There was so many people waiting

to go in and as soon as they

414

:

opened the doors, people started

moving in and it was raining.

415

:

And so Matt and I, we didn't

have our umbrellas either.

416

:

We're like, oh, we'll be fine.

417

:

And so it's raining.

418

:

We are getting absolutely drench.

419

:

And I get up to the door and I take

my shoes off and I step in and I'm

420

:

like, this is the place, this is

the place, this is the one I want.

421

:

And especially after you've looked

at a bunch of properties that are

422

:

awful, when you walk into one that's

magic, you're like, this is the one.

423

:

So we went through, um, we did

a walkthrough and I, I felt this

424

:

pull to put my hand on the wall.

425

:

And so I just walked along and I put

my hand on the wall and I just got

426

:

this strong message of you'll be back.

427

:

You will be back.

428

:

This is the one you, this is your home.

429

:

And I was like, Ugh.

430

:

You know, you get that overwhelming

feeling of like, oh, I found it.

431

:

I found it.

432

:

This is the one.

433

:

Okay.

434

:

And I'm looking around at all the other

couples, professional people, families

435

:

that are like doing the same thing

of like going through the motions of

436

:

like, oh, this is really nice and we

could put this here and put that there.

437

:

And so Matt and I quietly just moved

through this space and we stood out on the

438

:

back deck 'cause it's got a little garden.

439

:

And a decking out the back,

this beautiful, um, garden area.

440

:

And I just said to him,

I'm like, this is the one.

441

:

This is, this is what

we've been looking for.

442

:

It's in this brand new unknown

area, but it's gorgeous.

443

:

And so we sort of quietly left

and said to the agent, asked a few

444

:

questions, um, and said to the.

445

:

Uh, yes, we'd, we'd like to apply.

446

:

Please send through the details.

447

:

And we drove, um, out of the street

and found this beautiful little

448

:

township of shops and all these

gorgeous little cafes and things there.

449

:

And we pulled up and went into the

cafe and ordered a little coffee, had

450

:

a TME latte, and we put the application

in as we were sitting there within

451

:

minutes of inspecting it and just.

452

:

Allowing myself to dream a little,

because sometimes when we feel like we

453

:

want something or something's meant to

be for us, we can get resistant around,

454

:

oh, I don't wanna get my hopes up.

455

:

Oh, I don't wanna get my hopes

up because if I don't get it,

456

:

I'm gonna be really disappointed.

457

:

And I, I don't wanna have

to deal with that sadness.

458

:

I don't wanna have to go

back into searching again,

459

:

trying to find a new place.

460

:

And so it's so easy for

us to be like, oh, well.

461

:

I won't get my hopes up, we'll

just, you know, go through the

462

:

motions and keep myself detached.

463

:

But in this instance I was like, no,

the energy here is too strong this

464

:

pull to make this move and decide

that this is the place that we want.

465

:

So there's so much energy around this.

466

:

I'm like, no, I'm gonna

let myself get my hopes up.

467

:

Because when we allow ourselves to get

into that energy of excitement, into that

468

:

energy of like, this is the one, what it

does is it actually kind of like creates

469

:

a frequency match in our own frequency.

470

:

So stuff that we want

around us can find it.

471

:

And so I'm like, no, I'm

gonna put the application in.

472

:

I'm gonna picture myself there.

473

:

It's gonna be great.

474

:

And so this was a Tuesday that we'd

expect, inspected it, and we put the

475

:

application in and we didn't hear

anything, didn't hear anything, didn't

476

:

hear anything, didn't hear anything.

477

:

I spoke to the real estate

agent on the Friday.

478

:

I rang in to check in on it and

she's like, oh no, the landlord

479

:

hasn't made a decision yet.

480

:

And they were opening it again the

next day on the Saturday, which meant

481

:

a whole bunch of other dozens and

dozens of people were gonna go through

482

:

it and put more applications in.

483

:

I was like, Ugh.

484

:

But anyway, I thought I'm gonna

go through I again on the Saturday

485

:

and just, you know, part of my mind

is like, just gonna double check.

486

:

I double check the one, you know,

'cause I got a really strong

487

:

intuitive feeling that it was.

488

:

And so on Saturday morning we

turned up again, raining again.

489

:

So we're standing out the line

again, getting trenched amongst

490

:

dozens of people for this property.

491

:

And we walk through and this time I'm

like, I'm gonna take a video of the

492

:

walkthrough, um, just to kind of like.

493

:

Bring it home with me so that,

you know, I could think about

494

:

where are we gonna put things.

495

:

So I did this video and walked through it

again, and I said to Matt, I'm like, this

496

:

is the one, this is, this is the house.

497

:

Like, I can't wait for a response.

498

:

Anyway, we did the walkthrough, went

back to the little cafe that we'd found,

499

:

and just sat there and like I could

picture ourselves, you know, grabbing

500

:

coffee here or going to the shops here.

501

:

We went home anxiously over the weekend,

just putting lots of energy out there.

502

:

I was like, no, this is the house.

503

:

This is the.

504

:

One.

505

:

Anyway, Monday morning comes around and

it's like three o'clock in the afternoon.

506

:

By this point, I'm like, I still haven't

heard from the agent, and so I ring her.

507

:

Now side point.

508

:

I wanted to also let you know,

we had popped applications in for

509

:

some other houses that we'd saw.

510

:

They weren't as good as this

one, but we thought we need

511

:

to have a roof over our heads.

512

:

And so we put a bunch of

applications in for other places.

513

:

And on Monday we got accepted

for some of the others.

514

:

And whilst that was relieving.

515

:

Whilst that was relieving, I thought,

516

:

I know I'm gonna move into those houses

and feel like I should have waited.

517

:

I should have waited for the one,

because as soon as you accept an

518

:

application, it's legally binding here.

519

:

I'm not sure what it's like where you

are, but there's no cooling off period.

520

:

It's signed, sealed, delivered.

521

:

So as soon as you sign a new lease, you

are on the hook for that lease period.

522

:

Minimum usually is 12 months.

523

:

And so we got Monday morning, all

of these applications coming in.

524

:

You've been accepted.

525

:

You've been accepted.

526

:

You've been accepted, and we hadn't

heard back from this other one in Surrey

527

:

Hills, and I thought, oh, poor Matt.

528

:

It's getting ruper stressed because

the clock is ticking and we need to

529

:

make a decision before the Christmas

shut down because as we speak now,

530

:

all the real estate agents are closed.

531

:

There is no more house opens,

there's no more securing any

532

:

properties until they reopen around

the four, fifth, 6th of January.

533

:

So we are like, Ugh, if we don't sign

something, we could end up with nothing

534

:

at the end of our tenancy in January.

535

:

So.

536

:

I tuned in and I'm like, what do I do?

537

:

Do I just sign one of these

properties that we've got to

538

:

just secure something poor?

539

:

Matt's stressing is sweating and

I thought, they're not right.

540

:

If I sign a lease on one of these

properties going against this

541

:

intuitive message, going against

the energy, the the things that my

542

:

senses is saying, I'm gonna regret it.

543

:

It's not going to work out well.

544

:

And so.

545

:

I sat with it, I pulled cards on

it, I channeled on it, and I, I

546

:

kept getting, wait, hold, wait,

don't sign, don't sign, wait.

547

:

And I rang the agent at, as I said,

three o'clock in the afternoon

548

:

on the one that we wanted.

549

:

And she's like, I'm sorry, we haven't

got a decision, but I need you to

550

:

decide on these other properties.

551

:

And I just said to her, I'm like, I'm.

552

:

We are gonna withdraw on all the other

properties that we got an application for.

553

:

We'll withdraw.

554

:

I said, because the one

that we want is Florence.

555

:

And she's like, alright.

556

:

So we removed our application from

all the other properties that we had

557

:

and I'm like, my heart's beating.

558

:

And I'm like, oh, what have I done?

559

:

And I said to Matt, I'm

like, I can just, I feel it.

560

:

I see it.

561

:

I know it.

562

:

We are going to get Florence.

563

:

And I'm like, can you trust me because.

564

:

He and I are in different, different

worlds in terms of energy and

565

:

trust and our connection to source.

566

:

We're in different worlds.

567

:

He's a logic man, and I, and that's fine.

568

:

And I said, can you trust me?

569

:

And he's like, I'll, I'll trust you.

570

:

I'm like, it's, it's gonna be okay.

571

:

So we withdrew from all

the other applications.

572

:

Three o'clock the agent said, hasn't

made a decision, and she rings me back

573

:

at four o'clock after I'd just withdrawn

from all the other applications.

574

:

And she's like, I'm so

sorry you didn't get it.

575

:

You didn't get it.

576

:

So all of a sudden I went from

having multiple houses to none

577

:

and I didn't get the one I wanted.

578

:

And I was like, oh, what have I done?

579

:

What have I done?

580

:

Oh my God.

581

:

So anyway, I'm like, no,

it's, it's gonna be okay.

582

:

There's something else here.

583

:

There's something else

here that I'm not seeing.

584

:

And so I had to go to Matt

and be like, we didn't get it.

585

:

And I was drawn from all of the others.

586

:

I'm like, but just there's

something else here.

587

:

Because I'd so clean, clearly

seen when I did the walkthrough

588

:

of that house, I saw us there.

589

:

I got the message that we were gonna

be there, and so I was confused.

590

:

I'm like, what do you

mean university leaving?

591

:

We have this one.

592

:

Hey, I'm okay.

593

:

Right.

594

:

Alright.

595

:

Trust, trust, trust, trust, trust.

596

:

And so Matt and I are like, okay, well

we are gonna have to go look at more

597

:

places now because now we have nothing.

598

:

Anyway, I got a text message at

like, she told me no at four.

599

:

Four, about four o'clock.

600

:

I got a message at five o'clock that

night to say the tenants that had

601

:

been approved for that property.

602

:

Withdrew and it was back

available again, and so she'd

603

:

reforwarded all the applications.

604

:

Back to the landlord.

605

:

So this is amazing, right?

606

:

I had been given all of these other

properties, decided to say no,

607

:

hold out for the one that I wanted,

got rejected for the one that I

608

:

wanted, and then was, came back to

my practice of like groundedness

609

:

and being like, there's a reason.

610

:

There's a reason.

611

:

Just move.

612

:

Just trust the messages from source.

613

:

Just keep going.

614

:

Stay in the faith, stay in

the trust, hold the pressure.

615

:

And here's the thing, the pressure

that was building in my field,

616

:

in my body was tremendous.

617

:

And in the past I would've absolutely

collapsed into an a mess of failure.

618

:

Shame, you know, all of those

feelings of like, I should have

619

:

done this, or I should have done

that, or I shouldn't have trusted.

620

:

Should have taken the safe option,

like I would've collapsed into that.

621

:

But this time around the

pressure was intense, but I

622

:

was like, good things happen.

623

:

On the other side of pressure.

624

:

Good things happen when we hold the

line, when we stay steady, when we stay

625

:

connected to the thing that is bigger,

then us when we stay connected to.

626

:

There is magic on the other side

of it, and I kept feeling it.

627

:

I kept getting the signals,

I kept getting the downloads.

628

:

It was like, just hold, just

wait, just hold, just wait.

629

:

So anyway, we are now back in

the running for this property.

630

:

We had to sleep on it because

the real estate agent was shut.

631

:

Three o'clock the next

day we got the call.

632

:

We got it.

633

:

It was ours.

634

:

And so what a rollercoaster, what

a wild rollercoaster to go on in

635

:

terms of setting your attention

around what you want, holding the

636

:

faith, holding the trust, and then.

637

:

Just allowing it to manifest,

allowing it to come around to you.

638

:

'cause I got that really clear

message when I was in that property.

639

:

This is home.

640

:

This is where you're meant to be.

641

:

And it was almost like the

universe brought me the acceptances

642

:

of those other properties.

643

:

It's like, here's, here's two or three

other things that you could take.

644

:

We're tempting you with,

you know, like the apple.

645

:

Here are the things that you could take

if you wanna play it safe, if you want to.

646

:

Go with logic, with security,

with just taking the thing

647

:

that you can see right now.

648

:

It's like the universe put me, put those

in my path for me to have to say no.

649

:

Like I had to say no to be able to allow

myself to be back in the running when

650

:

this other property became available

again, because if I had have said

651

:

yes to the others, my application

would never have been reforwarded.

652

:

It would never have come about.

653

:

And so.

654

:

The pressure was huge, but I was

like, thank you for giving me the

655

:

opportunity to stand in my conviction

and to say, no, thank you for that.

656

:

I mean, we wanna say test, but

thank you for that growth point.

657

:

Thank you for that journey.

658

:

Thank you for that experience.

659

:

And what it does is when you have these

experiences is it strengthens your trust.

660

:

To your connection, to your source,

mother Earth, universe, spirit guides,

661

:

angels, whatever it is that you are

connected to, it strengthens you

662

:

because you're like, look at what I

can achieve when I stay connected.

663

:

Look at what unfolds.

664

:

Look at the magic that happens in my life.

665

:

And it was an absolute whirlwind.

666

:

We got the yes that next day and

I was like, gimme the contract.

667

:

I'm signing.

668

:

I'm signing it.

669

:

We're locking it in.

670

:

There was a little bit of negotiation

that I had to do and because we were

671

:

getting the keys on the 19th of December,

and I said to her, I'm like, that's.

672

:

Days before everything closes down,

like trying to get removalists

673

:

and all sorts of things, like

it's a tough time of year to move.

674

:

And I knew that because we moved in

here at the exact same time last year.

675

:

I said to her, is there any negotiation?

676

:

Can we get the keys earlier?

677

:

No, we can't.

678

:

Can, can you?

679

:

Hold the keys until January

when everything reopens.

680

:

No, if you don't accept it on the 19th of

December, we'll give it to someone else.

681

:

And so I was over a barrel in

terms of that and I'm like,

682

:

hold the faith, hold the trust.

683

:

There's a reason.

684

:

There's a reason why this is happening

and that we are so much more capable

685

:

to, of what we think we can do.

686

:

I mean, my mind was starting to say, oh,

it's gonna be busy, it's gonna be hard,

687

:

it's gonna be this, it's gonna be that.

688

:

And I was like, Nope.

689

:

There's a reason, let it go.

690

:

Let all of that go in terms of what the

mind wants to tell me that I'm capable of.

691

:

And so I was like, okay, 19th

of December it is, let's go.

692

:

Um, and I said to her, I'm like,

I don't wanna be doing this.

693

:

If you change your mind and you wanna

sell next year, I don't wanna be doing

694

:

this, uh, at the same time next year.

695

:

So I at least want you

to extend the lease.

696

:

So we have protections until, you

know, February, March next year.

697

:

There was a little bit of pushback

on that, but again, I held that trust

698

:

of like the universe is on my side.

699

:

The universe is working with me to

voice what I need to voice to say

700

:

no when I need to say no, and to

also stand my ground when I need to.

701

:

I mean, if you not gonna allow me to move

in in January, you, this is what I would

702

:

like in this beautiful exchange of energy.

703

:

And so they did.

704

:

They at least gave us, um, an

extended contract, which is great.

705

:

And so we signed and then we

were like, oh, what a magic.

706

:

What a magic experience.

707

:

And my husband, I was

like, how did you do that?

708

:

How did you do that?

709

:

I was like, it's all in the trust, baby.

710

:

It's all in the trust and in the faith.

711

:

And so right now I'm sitting, as I

mentioned at the start in an empty

712

:

room because over the last few days

since the 19th of December, we've

713

:

been moving, um, and everything.

714

:

I managed to get a removalist, managed

to get everything that we needed sorted.

715

:

Again, the universe.

716

:

Provided when my mind tried

to tell me it was gonna be

717

:

difficult, it has been so easy.

718

:

The removalist came in

and offered us a discount.

719

:

The, you know, people became available.

720

:

They had professionally cleaned the

place before we moved in, so I didn't

721

:

even have to clean the new place.

722

:

Everything has just flown

so smoothly and I'm just.

723

:

I keep coming back to that sense

of gratitude of thank you for

724

:

reminding me of how connected we are.

725

:

Thank you for all this abundance.

726

:

Thank you for challenging me and making me

grow and grow in my trust and the pressure

727

:

that I have held is such a gift because

as I mentioned, the previous version

728

:

of me would've crumbled, absolutely

crumbled under that level of pressure.

729

:

You know, I have a history of.

730

:

Anxiety, depression, um, lots of

different challenges in my history,

731

:

but to be able to be someone now who

can hold pressure because of my trust,

732

:

because of my faith, and because of my

connection, it makes us unstoppable.

733

:

It makes everything feel possible and

it stops us from collapsing into the but

734

:

how, but what if, prepare for the worst.

735

:

Type of energy that as humans, we've

been conditioned so well to do.

736

:

You know, it stops us from collapsing

into that, that we can then hold pressure.

737

:

Find the magic that exists on

the other side of that, and every

738

:

time we hold that pressure, we

expand, we grow our capability.

739

:

The things that we realize that we

can do in our lifetime expands because

740

:

we know that we are never alone.

741

:

We have this incredible capacity to

continue to grow, to push, to expand,

742

:

but also to allow the universe to unfold

exactly how it's meant to be without.

743

:

Having to collapse into old patterns,

and it's just testament to really

744

:

what we are capable of as a, a

human being, a human existence, and

745

:

souls having a human experience.

746

:

So if you are going through a situation

right now where everything is up in

747

:

the air, where you are weighing up,

I talked last week about the duality.

748

:

On the podcast of thinking that

there's only two choices if

749

:

you are in between two choices.

750

:

If you are in a pressure situation,

if you're coming up to the festive

751

:

season and you've got situations

that you're navigating that are

752

:

difficult, know that you are so

capable of holding pressure, not in a

753

:

stressed, not in a collapsed, not in.

754

:

This is gonna cost me way, but

holding pressure from a I trust,

755

:

I have faith, I surrender, I

move with what I know to be true.

756

:

I move with my intuition.

757

:

I move with my connection to my team,

to the universe, to mother earth.

758

:

Whatever it is that you feel connected to.

759

:

Say to yourself, I move with that

connection I trust, and I back myself.

760

:

I say no, and I back myself.

761

:

I put boundaries up, but I also soften

and move when I need to move, and I

762

:

trust and surrender when I need to.

763

:

If you're facing that right now, just

know that there is magic, and it all

764

:

starts with having that connection.

765

:

Knowing that you're not alone.

766

:

Expanding your senses, expanding

your field, softening into that,

767

:

allowing yourself to receive, and then

just moving with the flow of life.

768

:

Because like I said, making that decision

to move to Perth catalyzed a whole

769

:

bunch of incredible change, catalyzed

me being able to do the healing, to

770

:

finally feel grounded to finding this

place, to settling here, to realizing

771

:

I don't need a place to be able to

feel connected and grounded to them.

772

:

Being able to step into this next

incredible chapter that's coming for

773

:

us in this new place as we move over

this week and into the new year,

774

:

and create whatever it is that we're

here to create as we move forward.
